BUILD IT YOURSELF

Recently, I’ve had a lot of email activity on my "Poor Man's Seismometer,"
published in the Nuts & Volts May 2012 edition — especially since geophones
became available for $15 on eBay. Geophones increase the sensitivity and make
for a small unit. So, I decided to follow up with a three-axis accelerometer,
which is an adjunct for seismology.
